| Project Description: Drawing upon Touch Research’s use of long-exposure photography for visualizing the strength of WiFi networks, “Lightpainting WiFi”, Herman has captured the spatial variation of wireless networks using light-painting techniques. Digital Ethereal captures the trajectory of a network strength sensor as a light-painting, generating spectral images of the network’s electromagnetic spectrum. Herman’s work demonstrates the embeddedness of such “invisible networks” and makes these structures visible. |
