Map : [Google Maps] How to apply custom styling to a map in Google My Maps?

Map Info & Chart : [Google Maps] How to apply custom styling to a map in Google My Maps?

Hi all. I’m using Google Maps–>My Maps to create a custom map. When I do so, the ‘Base’ selector allows me to apply one of nine different map styles ([screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/AKFU8Ib.jpg)). But is there a way to apply my own custom map style? For example, I want to add my own custom label for one business, adjust the density of features, change colors scheme, etc (e.g. [customization](https://mapstyle.withgoogle.com/) you can do with this tool).

The final goal is to create a map with custom style (e.g. custom color scheme, custom labels, etc), then overlay a few simple shapes on that map, then embed the resulting map onto a web page. I know how to create a map with custom style, and separately, I know how to overlay shapes on a map (with Google My Maps). But I’m not sure how to do both on one single map. If i can apply custom map styling to the My Map created with Google, that would do what I want.

If there are better subs for this question, let me know and I’ll try posting there. The Google Maps sub seemed a bit under-populated :-/ I may also try posting to the official Google Maps forum.

Thanks in advance.
