Description

You probably think this is a bit of a silly question, but you’ve all seen movies where the animals end up roaming cities, lions walking down main street, etc.

Welcome to this episode of the Infographics Show, What if Every Animal Moved to New York City?

First of all, what do we mean by New York. While Americans may sigh, there are likely some viewers that don’t know New York is both a city and a state. The biggest city in the state is New York city, and after that cities such as Buffalo, Rochester and Yonkers are tiny.
Could all land animals fit in New York City?

The land area of the city is 302.643 sq. miles (783.84 km2). That’s pretty small actually, not just for the world but also for the USA. This move might not go well. We must also remember that New York is dense, in the sense of buildings. There is a lot of space in New York’s small buildings and massive skyscrapers.

Just look at the size of the One World Trade Center, it has 104-stories, with buttonless elevators that travel faster than Usain Bolt. Nonetheless, talking to technology won’t be a strong point for our animals.
