The closest most of us have ever come to a surfer g4ng is in front of a TV screen, watching the 1991 movie, “Point Break,” featuring guys riding waves and robbing banks. Obviously, that’s just more Hollywood over-the-top fiction. But fast-forward to 2007, and you might have caught the documentary film, “Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than Water”, a movie about real-life surfers in Australia that surfed waves but also got into hot water for their g4ng activities. They weren’t the first surfer g4ng of course. You might have heard of California’s “Cito Rats” or Hawaii’s “Wolfpak”, whose motto is, you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. Surf g4ngs are tightly knit, and none more so than the topic of today’s episode of the Infographics Show, Who Are the Bra Boys?
