In 1950, experienced mountaineer and skier Jim Carter was on a mountain climbing expedition with 20 other people when he mysteriously disappeared.
A search of the area by volunteers would later discover Carter’s out-of-control ski tracks, which seemed to suggest the missing man had been frantically careening down steep embankments and hurdling across crevasses as if fleeing for his life from something in the wilderness.
