These infographics detail the increasing environmental threats to both Arctic indigenous communities and wild life caused by the use of heavy fuel oil in shipping. The risk of oil spills and the carbon emissions produced represent huge and unjust threats to the sustainability of this ecosystem. But these threats can be removed, for example, by switching to distillate fuels for ships.
